What Happened?

Holy Spirit
Recently I began to notice the lack of Holy Fire among the saints. Where is the fire, the fervor for the things of God? People, including leaders, have become lackadaisical in their pursuit of God. Almost as if taking God for granted. Where is the fire? Where is the Holy fear/reverence of God? Could this be why we are seeing fewer and fewer signs, wonders and miracles in the Body of Christ?

Ok. Here I go. Am I missing something? I mean really, am I missing something? Where is the fear (Holy reference) of the Lord in the Body of Christ today? In the leaders and those in the 5-fold ministries? We as the Church, the Ekklesia (Ecclesia) the Legislative Branch of Kingdom government should be exhibiting the Fear or Holy Reverence of the Lord. Not only that, we should be burning up with His Holy Fire! We are modern-day Carriers of the Ark the Presence of God!

This has been burning inside me for some time and I believe it has finally come to a boiling point today, like a volcano when the lava cap finally comes off in an explosion and the hot, burning lava comes spewing out. Just as King David said in Psalms 39:3, My heart burned with a fire within me, and my thoughts eventually boiled over until they finally came rolling out of my mouth.

I fail to see the fire of God in His Congregation today. I fail to see the depth of worship that opens the door for the Holy Spirit to enter into our midst and manifest Himself with signs, wonders, miracles, the Gifts of the Spirit being taken so lightly that no time is given for Him to move. Most people don't even know how to recognize a true move of the Spirit in their services or what to do when He does move or even how to operate in the gifts. Congregational or corporate worship has become a thing of tradition, two fast songs (usually horizontal) and one or two slow songs (usually horizontal but maybe vertical) but cut too short so people have no time to truly "enter in". Too many people are saying, "Is this all there is"? "There must be more". There was a time when the "head" of a ministry would cut worship short just as people were entering into the Courts, not even the Holy of Holies or beyond the veil, and I could feel the pain of being pulled out of my worship experience as though being cut with a knife.

Too many times I have witnessed people and leadership talking, laughing and carrying on (not in the Holy Ghost) during worship services. How did I notice you ask if I was worshipping myself? I noticed because they pulled me out of my place of worship with their conversations and disruptions. Where is the fear of the Lord? And we wonder why there is no manifestation of His Spirit during our services. It is like Song of Solomon 5:2-6 when the Beloved comes to the door and knocks but we are too lazy, we have washed our feet, and are laying around and too tired to open the door to Him. We invite the Holy Spirit in but when He shows up, we shut the door in His face because we don't have time or, we just plain don't recognize Him. And, when we realize it was Him, it's too late. He has left and all we have is a stale fragrance of where He once was. Song of Solomon 5:5 I rose up to open to my beloved, and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. 6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.

We need the fire of God burning within us like never before. Nothing draws a crowd like a fire! I have experienced the fire, the glory of God, to such a point that the building I was in appeared to be on fire.  I have read stories by men and women of God who have had services where the fire department had shown up because someone called them saying the building was on fire but it was the Glory of God! Jesus said if He be lifted up, He'd draw all men unto Himself. It seems as though the Church is lifting up everything but Jesus when trying to draw people.

Those who walked with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus said, Why didn't we recognize it was him? Didn't our hearts burn with the flames of holy passion while we walked beside him? He unveiled for us such profound revelation from the Scriptures"?

There are preachers preaching without the fire of God. Even King David said in Psalm 39:3, My heart burned with a fire within me, and my thoughts eventually boiled over until they finally came rolling out of my mouth. Why are we even preaching/teaching without the fire of God within us?

God's presence will draw people, His fire will draw people. It will flow out into the streets until people begin to cry out "what must I do to be saved?" and they don't even know why. People will be collapsing in the parking lots from the Glory of God emanating from the church building. As carriers of the Ark, the presence of God, God's presence in, on and through us should be drawing people. Signs and wonders should be following us, not the other way around. Why are we not chasing or pursuing the presence of God?

Where is the God of Elijah? The God who is a consuming fire? His Word is like fire, shut up in my bones and it must come forth! There, I said it!!

Song of Solomon 5:2-6 King James Version (KJV)

2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.

3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?

4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.

5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.

6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.

Luke 24:32 The Passion Translation (TPT)

32 Stunned, they looked at each other and said, "Why didn't we recognize it was him? Didn't our hearts burn with the flames of holy passion while we walked beside him? He unveiled for us such profound revelation from the Scriptures"?

Jeremiah 20:9 King James Version (KJV)

9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Psalm 39:3 The Passion Translation (TPT)

3 My heart burned with a fire within me, and my thoughts eventually boiled over until they finally came rolling out of my mouth.

Exodus 13:21 King James Version (KJV)

21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Leviticus 6:13 King James Version (KJV)

13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

Hebrews 12:29 King James Version (KJV)

29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Proverbs 9:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Joshua 3:3 King James Version (KJV)

3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
